Photography and Video Information
I started in the 1970's with Kodachrome 25 & 64 film and all manual cameras. In the 80's I specialized in Outdoor Photography and contributed to those types of publications. Since it was taught that you had to specialize in a specific area of photography, I turned down any assignments that were offered outside of that specialty. By the late 80's I took on some Architectural and Model projects. With my extensive knowledge of equipment, light and composition, I could photograph any subject, anywhere and produce stunning results. Studio photographers would use polaroid's to check their exposure and composition. In my type of fast paced photography on location, it was just pure knowledge of photography at work. I was never one of those “Bracket” everything types. It was meter and capture one shot. Today I still use that same technique to anyone who requires high quality images with fast and friendly service. My films of choice are Kodak E Family, Kodak T-Max, Fuji Fujichrome Fuji Neopan and Ilford family of Black and White films and papers. With digital pushing down film sales, there's no guarantee these films and other film related products will continue to be available. I can provide same day delivery of images in various formats for projects. My LaMonica Pictures web site is now here in a smaller form. The older website had over 250 pages and 8000+ images and at that point, I felt it was time to downsize.

Cinematic and Photographic Ethics - I provide cinematic and photographic services to a variety of clients using the best equipment suited to the project at hand. I do not engage in "setting up images" by means of staging. There's a difference between creating an advertising campaign and actually catching life as it happens. All digital pictures are processed like film pictures. They are captured in the cameras RAW format, then uploaded and exported in a RAW file converter like film in a developer. I do not alter/manipulate pictures. I prefer that they look just like what I saw when I pushed the shutter button. If I alter/manipulate an image, it is clearly marked as such.
